Public performances, lecture recitals

Professional concert pianist; has also performed professionally as organist, harpsichordist and harmonium player. Formerly choral and ensemble singer with both large and small groups to semi-professional level.

Professional debut as pianist aged seventeen, Purcell Room, London South Bank Centre. Other performance venues include all of London’s major concert halls, cathedral and church venues in the Midlands, East Anglia and the South, concerts in Italy, France, Germany, Austria, Portugal.

Has given many modern-era premieres of rediscovered works of the nineteenth-century including works by Beethoven, S.S. Wesley, Alkan, Kirchner, Beliczay and many others, often prepared from manuscript sources or early editions, and with spoken historical introductions. Several premieres of contemporary music include works by Jonathan Dove and by contemporary Asian composers. As soloist, has performed much of the major repertoire of the Romantic era and performed the transcriptions of Godowsky and Schulz-Evler while still a teenager. As ensemble artist and choral repetiteur has performed the major duo and oratorio repertoire of the Classical and Romantic eras. Has often appeared in ensemble concerts performing his own compositions.

Between 1988 and 2000 held permanent positions as organist at London churches; also undertook freelance work as an organist, including some recital work concerned with the eighteenth-century English tradition.
